Featuring integrated asset management, the DataTrack System allows you to keep a catalog of your organization’s workstations, printers, peripherals and other resources. An asset, as defined in the DataTrack System, is any company-related resource that you would like to keep track of.
If an asset has been allocated to a specific user, during the submission process, this user has the option of selecting the asset, which could be, for example, their workstation computer. In addition to the more evident advantages, this allows you to perform preventative maintenance on items that would otherwise require complex and expensive servicing.
Integrated Knowledge Management
In addition to allowing you to create informative articles for your technicians, the knowledge base also serves as a resource to your requesters and end users. Automation and Escalation
The DataTrack System 2005 consolidates multiple different automated systems found in version 2003 into one very powerful subsystem, called Automation. Through the creation of rules, automation performs tasks based upon conditions you setup. For example, a rule could be used to escalate a work order’s priority after a certain period of inactivity. You can similarly have a work order routed to a different folder based upon its category or other field.

Much like with email attachments, the DataTrack System allows you to insert file attachments into work orders.
